Job Description

As a Building Control Officer, you will support the Building Control Manager in the delivery of a building control service, so that it meets statutory targets and legislation.

Responsabilities

  • Interpret plans, drawings, and site conditions or re-submissions with the ability to apply that interpretation to the current regulations and Acts of Parliament that relate to the Building Control function
  • Provide professional and technical advice, guidance, interpretation and evaluation on all aspects of the work area to service users, colleagues and statutory authorities to meet statutory and service requirements.
  • Carry out site inspections of building work in progress to ensure compliance with the Regulations, approved plans, relevant British Standards and good building practice
  • Inspect properties in respect of works being carried out in contravention of Building Regulations, e.g. without approval or application, or as a result of complaints.
