Job Description

As a Heritage Officer, you will assist with the planning and delivery of displays, exhibitions, talks and events to inform the public of the heritage of the borough.

Responsabilities

  • Provide a high level of customer care to welcome and support the public in their use of the Heritage Service and its facilities including access to IT and online resources and informing customers on the scope and contents of on site displays and exhibitions.
  • Assist with the collection and evaluation of key performance data for the Heritage Service including visitor numbers, volume of enquiries, complaints and requests for service.
  • Assist the Archivist and the Curator with the planning, research, design and construction of the ongoing programme of heritage exhibitions and displays to the required standards and liaise with other services and partners to deliver the programme to the agreed specification and allocated resources.
  • Undertake duties on public enquiry points to support the research and study needs of service users visiting the Heritage Service. Retrieve information from the collections on site and via online resources as required.
