As a Cardiologist, you will specialise in the treatment of heart conditions.
Responsabilities
You will be an expert in assessing patients with acute and chronic cardiac issues, undertaking specialist diagnostic procedures like echocardiography or interventions like angioplasty.
Cardiologists work within a dedicated NHS heart unit or in private practice, with many undertaking research into the treatment and causes of cardiac disease.
You’ll also be involved in understanding diseases, how they progress and can be prevented.
Your emotional resilience will also be challenged as your patients will often require palliative care.
